Happy Sunday Clippers,

James M. Bennett High School is putting together a campaign that will benefit those who were affected by Hurricane Maria.  Our focus will be in providing food and other items for families in Puerto Rico.  Being the ELL hub for the county, we have many students that have family members that have suffered a huge blow due to the hurricane.  We also have alumni that are living with families in Puerto Rico.  Our plan will be coming out shortly as this is a project that will be publicized by our students in the STEP UP Program, our fall athletic teams, and our ELL students.  Be on the look out for more information to come shortly.

The Step Up After school program will begin the week of October 2nd.  If you are interested in your student attending this program, please contact Mr. Binns at 410-677-5141 or via email at kbinns@wcboe.org.

October is Anti-Bullying Month and we at JMB plan to "Throw Kindness Like Confetti" this month.  We want to see how our JMB family throws their kindness around.  Please email pictures that show examples of "JMB Unity"  to Mr. Serig at jserig@wcboe.org or Mrs. Bradford @ lbradford@wcboe.org.  We plan to feature these on our Facebook page.

There will be a junior class meeting for students and parents on Tuesday October 10 at 5:30pm in the Clipper’s Galley.  We will be informing everyone about the events of the year including Rock and Roll Revival Concessions and Junior/Senior Banquet.  Please be there.

Finally, mid-term reports come out this week.  Please don't forget to check in with your child to see how their grades are.  You can access Parent Portal at any time.  Now is the time to have discussion with your child about what they can do to improve their grades.

Have a great week, JMB and don't forget to come out and show your JMB spirit this coming Friday evening at County Stadium.  Our football team will be going to battle with cross town rival Parkside.  I want to challenge our students to come out and show all of Delmarva who has the best student cheering section.  That's right! Wear your red and black and cheer for your Clipper!
